Xtra Happy Ratvader really gets to shine as a composer on The Gunk soundtrack. Cinematic in nature, it's full of orchestral flourishes which exceed in ushering in both moments of drama and calm serenity, as well as flawlessly immersing you into another world for its 2 hour runtime. Lively strings highlight the enormity of the world around you, while synths and bassier tones warn you of its dangers. Smaller background layers of percussion, like in 'Anima (I)', add curiosity and a vibrancy to the world. Favorite track: Perpetuity (I).

Camille Flammarion, French Astronomer, originally created the "Flammarion Engraving" with the purpose of analogizing "the beautiful shapes and patterns of a kaleidoscope" with the transcendent beauty and unending complexity of the human spirit. I could only expect a producer of El Huervo's talent to wordlessly depict such a profound sentiment, perfecting the imitable emotional core throughout all of his music in a remarkably humanizing release.
